Zoom is the Video Communication software which is mainly useful for Video Conferencing, Meeting, Webinars, Conference Rooms, Phone Systems and Chatting. It is the Free software but with some limitations in the resource.
In this blog I am explaining about how to install or update zoom Client
If you are doing new installation of Zoom, you can skip the section 1. Check for Updates , and directly go to 2. Download Zoom section
1. Check for Updates
First you need to check any Latest Updates available or not. Mostly you will be notified in the top of the view. Some time you may have have to check manually in the menu Check for Updates under Settings.
Now you can click on “Update Now” button to redirect to Zoom official website or go to their downloads center.
2. Download Zoom
- Go to Zoom official Downloads page.
- Select the Linux Type as Fedora, OS Architecture as per your OS.
- Click Download.
3. Install Zoom
Once you download the Zoom latest installation rpm, you can try to install the rpm via command line.
Open your Terminal application and run the following command. Here zoom_x86_64.rpm is the downloaded file name. You can change the file name what you have downloaded.
sudo rpm -ivh zoom_x86_64.rpm
If you are doing Zoom installation first time, you must be end with success message. You can skip to the step 4. Start the Zoom
If you have already installed Zoom in your system, it will show conflicts and errors like below.
To resolve the above error you have to remove the old version of Zoom and try the new installation again. Follow the commands below
sudo dnf remove zoom
sudo rpm -ivh zoom_x86_64.rpm
Now you are successfully Re Installed the Zoom
4. Start the Zoom
Once you successfully installed the zoom, you can search the zoom application in the Fedora Activities bar and start the application.
Or you may start the zoom via command line through terminal. Simply use the command as zoom.
zoom
That’s it. Now you may Register with Zoom and enjoy the Free meetings with other Zoom users.
